Tornado was a steel roller coaster located at Blackgang Chine in Ventnor, Isle of Wight, England, UK. It was manufactured by an Italian company, now affiliated/owned by a company called Westech.
Tornado was planned to open in 2003 however it failed to meet UK safety regulations. Problems included inadequate supports which proved difficult to rectify due to the tight clearances within the ride. After a year standing but not operating, the park told Westech to dismantle the roller coaster and refund the cost of the ride. Subsequently the manufacturer refused to refund the cost of the roller coaster so it was dismantled while the park entered a legal battle with Westech. The park won the case and the Tornado was removed. What happened to the roller coaster after is not known.
Two years after the Tornado was planned to open, the park opened Cliffhanger.
