Tower of Terror is a steel sit-down roller coaster located at Gold Reef City in Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa. Opened in 2001, the ride was designed by Ronald Bussink, manufactured by local companies and built by Gold Reef City.[1] This coaster currently holds the record for the highest g-force on a roller coaster at 6.3 g.

Tower of Terror lifts the car up with an elevator lift. It then pushes the car forward into the vertical drop. The drop dives 49 feet under the ground into a former mineshaft.[2]
