Big Timber Log Ride is a steel water roller coaster located at Enchanted Forest in Turner, Oregon, USA.[1]

History

In the early 1990s, Enchanted Forest's management saw the need for another major ride at the park, as the previous major ride, Ice Mountain Bobsled, was nearing a decade old. They decided on a Log Flume ride, later annouced as Big Timber Log Ride.[2]

The ride's construction took multiple years, with it originally slated to open in late spring 1995, but that date was missed, and it later opened in May 1996.[2][3][4] During the delays, the ride's cost had also doubled from the original $1,000,000 to $2,000,000.[3][5]

Design

Elements

Big Timber Log Ride is very similar to other Log Flume rides, the reason for its water roller coaster classification is because of a section before the ride's final Splashdown, featuring a small chain lift followed by a 90° left turn, a 25 foot tall dip, a 90° left turn, and a 40 foot tall drop, all empty of water.[1][5]

Trains

5 cars. Riders are arranged inline in 4 rows, for a total of 4 riders per car.

The cars are standard log flume boats.
