A Ferris Wheel (also known as a giant wheel, big wheel or observation wheel) is a gentle ride which consists of gondolas attached, in such a way that they are kept upright, to the circumference of a vertically-orientated wheel. Each gondola may be open-air, partially or fully enclosed.
Ferris wheels operate within amusement parks as well as at funfairs and as standalone attractions.
