Gulf Scream was duo of body speed water slides built by USA manufacturer Morning Star Manufacturing formerly located at Adventure Island Tampa Bay in Tampa, Florida, USA.[1][2]

History

Gulf Scream opened on May 26, 1983, with appearances from Dean Torrence of rock duo Jan and Dean, and Mike Love of The Beach Boys.[3]

On March 15, 1986, Tampa Typhoon opened above Gulf Scream on a 22 foot tall extension of the tower.[4] It would later close in 2005.[5]

A 21-year-old woman was injured on the slide on June 1, 2003.[6]

The slide closed at the end of the 2014 season on September 28, 2014, to be replaced by Colossal Curl.[7][8] Demolition began in mid-October, was was finished by November.[9]
