Log Flume was a Log Flume built by US manufacturer Arrow Dynamics that was previously located at Frontierland Western Theme Park in Morecambe, Lancashire, England, UK. The ride was eventually scrapped in 2009, having been standing but not operating for a number of years.

History

Log Flume opened in 1982. Before it was built and opened, the park was met with opposition from Highfield Terrace residents in Morecambe about issues and regarding planning permission. On the official opening, the Mayor Councillor of Lancashire, Geoff Bryan rode the attraction.[1]

The ride continued to operate at the park until it closed in 1999 as part of the park's downsizing and eventual closure. The ride was subsequently left standing but not operating.

On 22 March 2001, it was confirmed to the public that a family entertainment centre (FEC) would be built and operated by Blackpool Pleasure Beach as part of the former park's redevelopment, similar to the Casablanca family entertainment centre complex at Pleasureland Southport. The Log Flume, along with the Polo Tower were expected to be retained and reopened as part of this development, but this never ended up happening.[2]

On 22 April 2001, it was reported that the ride was listed for sale on the ITAL Used Rides website.[3]

After standing but not operating for nearly a decade, the ride was finally demolished and scrapped in 2009. After its removal, its concrete foundations would remain on site until 2022, when the remaining undeveloped former park land was cleared for future redevelopment.
