Padre Plunge was a Shoot The Chute ride previously located at the Schlitterbahn water park in Corpus Christi, Texas, USA. It previously operated at Alabama Adventure. The ride was 610 feet long and 50 feet high and was manufactured by SkyTrans Manufacturing.[1]
History
Buzzsaw Falls opened at Alabama Adventure on May 28, 2011. It was located on the site of a former dinosaur walk-through, which was removed several years earlier.[2] The ride's name was chosen as the result of a naming contest, and the winning entry was submitted anonymously.[3] The ride only operated for one season because in 2012, Alabama Adventure began operating exclusively as a water park.[4]
This attraction reopened at the Schlitterbahn Corpus Christi water park in May 2017 following numerous delays.[5] In August of the same year, Hurricane Harvey hit the park, severely damaging the attraction. Padre Plunge never reopened was demolished in March 2020.[6][7]
