HELP |
Super Tornado is a steel roller coaster currently located at Mirabilandia in Olinda, Pernambuco, Brazil.
History
The coaster originally opened as Montanha Espacial on 19 February 1983 at Tivoli Park in Rio De Janeiro, Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. It continued to operate up until 17 December 1995, closing with the rest of the park. The park wouldn't reopen, and most of the rides where relocated to Luna Park in Nova Iguaçu, Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, this included the Montanha Espacial.
The ride would lay in storage here, never being erected. It would remain in storage until it was bought up by Mirabilandia in March of 2006. This prompted the ride to be shipped to Olinda, Pernambuco, Brazil, where it would finally be erected again. It would eventually reopen on 13 December 2008 under the new name of Super Tornado.
