Was it the same Ghost Train in Funland that was at SegaWorld?
Hello @LTPHarry I did some digging and found this blog post, it seems to suggest a different Ghost Train was installed in Funland. Do you remember what info you based this article off of? As we already found out, info on Funland is few and far between :( Lachlan (Talk | contribs) 12:00, 4 August 2024 (UTC)
- I believe where I got the information came from memory because I think that I recall looking at a defunct website a decade ago that listed down the names of the new names of the ex-SegaWorld attractions at Funland before most of them were removed and scrapped. It would have been unlikely that Family Leisure would have scrapped Ghost Hunters because the track was still there and they could have easily repurposed the ride as such.
- as for other information, the only other source I was able to find about the Ghost Train was a theme park forum that I have forgotten the name to. As I stated before it’s a shame that information about the 2000 incarnation of Funland is few and far between. LTPHarry (talk) 12:18, 4 August 2024 (UTC)
- Ah okay - any chance you remember the website - we can have a look on Wayback Archive for it Lachlan (Talk | contribs) 12:24, 4 August 2024 (UTC)
- Sorry Lachlan, I don’t know the name of it. I actually had been trying months ago when I made the Funland page, too. The venue's official site was lost to time as well because it was a flash file. LTPHarry (talk) 14:29, 4 August 2024 (UTC)
- Do you have a link to the old Funland website? There is sometimes ways to recover Flash content... Lachlan (Talk | contribs) 15:27, 4 August 2024 (UTC)
- Sorry for the late reply Lachlan, but the flash files weren't archived, I think I tried it even when Flash was a thing, too.
- You could try, but I doubt anything will work.

- No worries - that's a shame about the old website. I couldn't get it to work either. I'm trying to think if there's anything else we can try but am drawing a blank. We can't write articles based on memory though. Do you maybe know anyone who could have old park maps/brochures? If you're on any coaster forums, you could ask on there (I'm not on any of them these days!). Lachlan (Talk | contribs) 09:50, 8 August 2024 (UTC)
- Sorry Lachlan, I don't. I think the only choice we have at this point is to split the page in two until we find sources. I did exchange comments with Stevie Geek last year but he has little memory of the place aside from what he did take photos of. I’ll hopefully try and find the forum post about the Ghost Train soon. - Ok - no probs! I may go in and cut down some of the Funland content since the sourcing is so murky, we can always add it back in if you find out more. Thanks for your continued help! Lachlan (Talk | contribs) 12:07, 8 August 2024 (UTC)
- I did search up for anything on Google Books because there are some guide books about London that do mention this era of the venue. Although the only issue is that they have a small preview, and you have to buy the guidebook just to get the information. LTPHarry (talk) 15:26, 8 August 2024 (UTC)
- May as well stick them here - in case someone can get access to them in the future Lachlan (Talk | contribs) 16:05, 11 August 2024 (UTC)
- The books I found? LTPHarry (talk) 16:06, 11 August 2024 (UTC)
- Yes, if you still have a link paste it in here as it may be useful to someone in the future :) Lachlan (Talk | contribs) 16:33, 11 August 2024 (UTC)
- Alright, I’ll post them when I have the time. Back on the topic of the 2000-2002 version of Funland… would you call it more of a family entertainment centre with some flat rides than a theme park? LTPHarry (talk) 16:38, 11 August 2024 (UTC)
- It doesn't really feel like a family entertainment centre as such to me, more of an arcade and bowling alley that also had some dodgems. If it were me I would keep it super generic and just call it an attraction or similar. Lachlan (Talk | contribs) 17:38, 11 August 2024 (UTC)
- Alrighty. It’s kinda fascinating how much the second floor (the one with the bar and bowling alley) had changed from its SegaWorld days as the Sports Arena floor to Funland. But it’s strange to note that the venue had two Dodgems sets in the 2000-2002 eras… one from SegaWorld, the other from when Funland first opened in 1990. LTPHarry (talk) 17:41, 11 August 2024 (UTC)
- Here's a link to one of the highlighted portions, but it just bluntly says that it contains "3D Simulators", not describing anything in particular. Funland is on Page 61 of this guidebook. [1] The Proun website[2] does describe the Ghost Train as a "new addition", but doesn't supply any pictures of it. At this point, I don't think we have any answers for this at the moment.
