Name

From reading newspaper articles and looking at old park maps, the name didn't switch to "Six Flags AstroWorld" in 1975 as RCDB suggests. Six Flags didn't start operating the park until May 1975, and from then onwards it was still referred to as "AstroWorld" in newspaper articles. I wasn't able to find a definitive year where the branding switched. Looking at old park maps the first map to mention "Six Flags AstroWorld" was in 1994 and shortly after (As already noted in the article, thanks @LTPHarry) the branding switched to "AstroWorld, a Six Flags theme park". It appears it went back to "Six Flags AstroWorld" before closure in 2005.

How to summarise and source any of this I'm not sure! Lachlan (Talk | contribs) 22:03, 21 February 2025 (UTC)Reply

Six Flags Acquisition

Although Six Flags had leased AstroWorld since 1975, elsewhere states that AstroWorld was fully purchased by Six Flags in 1978. MK700 Geek (talk) 11:29, 11 May 2025 (UTC)Reply

Hello - whereabouts did you see the bit about Six Flags purchasing the park? That may be correct. Lachlan (Talk | contribs) 21:02, 11 May 2025 (UTC)Reply
