Opening year: 1974 or 1980?
GreatAdventureHistory covers both this attraction (Super Round Up II) and an older one which opened with the park in 197 (Super Round Up). Confusingly, however, the Super Round Up II page states the unit was swapped in 1980, whereas the Super Round Up page states the same unit has operated at the park since opening in 1974. There is also an image of manufacturing details which is clearly taken from the most recent reincarnation of the ride as Swashbuckler that states:
- Manufactured by: Hrubetz of Oregon
- Manufacture Date: 1974
- Capacity: 42 Passengers Standing
- Manufacturer Serial # 222S
- Direction of Travel: Clockwise
- Ride Speed: 16 RPM
The 1974 date lines up with the opening year of Great Adventure and the first Super Round Up, which makes me think there has indeed only been one Round-Up ride that was installed in 1974 and remains operational today. - I've realised why there was an apparent inconsistency. The Super Round Up page I linked to above is supposed to cover both units spanning from 1974 until now. There is a third page, Super Round Up dedicated to the ride that apparently operated at the park from 1974 to 1979. Lachlan (Talk | contribs) 18:26, 13 July 2021 (UTC)
