The World of Sid and Marty Krofft
Amusement park in Georgia, USA
More actions
The World of Sid and Marty Krofft was a short-lived indoor amusement park in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. The park was based on the characters and franchises of brothers Sid Krofft and Marty Krofft.
Following its only park season, the park closed. Reasons included low visitor numbers, the popularity of the nearby Six Flags Over Georgia and the then-urban decay of downtown Atlanta.[1]
A decade later in 1987, Ted Turner's CNN network moved into the space; eventually renaming the whole complex as the CNN Center once he bought the building. Many features of the theme park are still seen in the building to this day, such as the escalator.
