The World of Sid and Marty Krofft was an indoor amusement park in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. The park was based on the characters and franchises of brothers Sid Krofft and Marty Krofft.
History
The park opened on May 26, 1976 and closed November 9 of the same year. Reasons for its closure included low visitor numbers, the popularity of the nearby Six Flags Over Georgia, and the then-urban decay of downtown Atlanta.[1]
In 1987, Ted Turner's CNN network moved into the space and eventually renamed the whole complex as the CNN Center. Many features of the theme park are still seen in the building to this day, such as the escalator.[citation needed]
