Six Flags Over Georgia is a theme park located in Austell, Georgia, USA. The park has a collection of twelve roller coasters. It is the largest amusement park in Georgia.

History

Six Flags Over Georgia is one of the original three parks opened by Six Flags. The park opened in 1967,[1] after the success of Six Flags Over Texas. Even though Six Flags Over Georgia carries the "Six Flags" name, the park is owned in a limited partnership held by the Wynn family, the patriarch who started the Six Flags concept. The other parks that share this distinction are Six Flags Over Texas and Six Flags Great Adventure.[citation needed]

Water slides

The park also includes Six Flags Hurricane Harbor, which opened for the 2014 season and is included with the price of admission. The park includes a small number of slides as well as the Calypso Bay wave pool.

In contrast to most Hurricane Harbor parks, the Over Georgia one is much smaller at only seven acres; likely due to Six Flags White Water being located nearby.

Other Venues

Six Flags Over Georgia's management also owns the nearby Six Flags White Water in Marietta, Georgia, which is one of the largest water parks in the United States.

White Water also formerly had its own theme park that was aimed at young children and families - American Adventures, which operated until 2010.
