Six Flags Over Georgia is a theme park located in Austell, Georgia, USA. The park has a collection of twelve roller coasters. It is the largest amusement park in Georgia.
History
Six Flags Over Georgia is one of the original three parks opened by Six Flags. The park opened in 1967 after the success of Six Flags Over Texas. Even though Six Flags Over Georgia carries the "Six Flags" name, it is currently not part of the Six Flags family of parks and is privately owned and operated by the Wynn family, the patriarch who started the Six Flags concept. The other parks that share this distinction are Six Flags Over Texas and Six Flags Great Adventure. Apart of being a successful amusement park destination, Six Flags Over Georgia is also home to Whitewater, located in nearby Marietta, Georgia, one of the largest water parks in the country.
