Movie Park Germany is a theme park located in Bottrop, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It opened in 1996 on the site of the former Neue Traumland park.

History

The park opened as Warner Bros. Movie World in 1996. After the 1999 season, the park was acquired by Premier Parks, which rebranded itself as Six Flags the following year. The company entered into a licensing agreement with Warner Bros and thus, the park branding was not changed.[1] The park changed hands again when Six Flags sold its European parks to Palamon Capital Partners in 2004.[2] For the 2005 season, the Warner Bros. branding was dropped and the park was renamed Movie Park Germany. On 19 May 2010, Palamon Capital Partners sold the park to Parques Reunidos.[3]
