Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Concord is a water park located in Concord, California, USA. It is situated about fifteen miles from Six Flags Discovery Kingdom.

History

The park was originally opened by FRE, Inc. as Waterworld USA Concord in 1995, functioning as the sister park to the original Waterworld USA park in Sacramento. On October 25, 1996, Premier Parks announced the acquisition of the parks for an undisclosed amount.[1]

In February 2005, the park was renamed to Six Flags Waterworld Concord.[2] On January 11, 2007, it was announced that the park alongside six other Six Flags properties would be sold to PARC Management for $312 million.[3] As part of the agreement, PARC simultaneously sold the properties to CNL Lifestyle Properties and began leasing them back.[4] The park was renamed again to WaterWorld California, as Six Flags had not renewed their operations lease on the Waterworld Sacramento park and went to another operator. Premier Parks took over operations in 2011, while ownership transitioned to EPR Properties in 2016.

On April 27, 2017, Six Flags announced that they had re-purchased the lease of the park through a deal with EPR, making it the first of a selection of properties they formerly owned to be purchased back.[5] In 2018, the park was renamed Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Concord.
