Six Flags St. Louis, originally known as Six Flags Over Mid-America, is an amusement park located in Eureka, Missouri, USA. It is the third park in the Six Flags chain of amusement parks. It is the last park in the chain to be founded by Angus G. Wynne and unlike sisters Six Flags Over Texas and Six Flags Over Georgia, it is wholly owned by the Six Flags corporation.
History
The park first opened on June 5, 1971 as Six Flags Over Mid-America. It was renamed to Six Flags St. Louis in 1996.
In March 2020, Six Flags St. Louis delayed the opening season due to the coronavirus pandemic. The park eventually opened on June 22, 2020.[1] In May 2021, Six Flags announced that vaccinated guests were no longer required to wear face coverings.[2] However, in July, this rule was recalled when the Delta variant begun to spread. As a result, guests would once again have to wear face masks indoors.[3]
