Parachute Training Center: Edwards AFB Jump Tower was a Paratower built by Swiss manufacturer Intamin previously located at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, New Jersey, USA.
History
The ride first opened at Six Flags Over Mid-America in 1978 as Sky Chuter. It was removed in 1982 and relocated to Six Flags Great Adventure in 1983.[1] The ride closed after the end of the 2022 season, but remained standing but not operating before the park announced its permanent removal on November 14, 2024. Parachute Training Center: Edwards AFB Jump Tower, alongside Kingda Ka, Zumanjaro: Drop of Doom, Green Lantern and Twister were to be removed and demolished to make way for a “multi world record breaking launched roller coaster” in 2026.[2][3]
Six Flags Great Adventure filed for permits to demolish the ride in November 2024.[4] The ride was imploded by demolition firm Controlled Demolition, Inc. on December 19, 2024.[5]
