Midway Mayhem is a Frisbee built by German manufacturer HUSS that is currently under construction at Niagara Amusement Park and Splash World in Grand Island, New York, USA. It previously operated at Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, Illinois, USA and Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson Township, New Jersey, USA.
History
The attraction first opened at Six Flags Great Adventure in 1999 as part of a major expansion, and was called Pendulum.[1] It was dismantled in 2003, with its ride parts visible during the park's "Winter Lights" event at the end of the year.[2]
In 2004, the ride was sent to Six Flags Great America, where it was renamed Revolution.[3]
In October 2023, the attraction's closure was announced for October 29, 2023. Before the announcement was made, two tombs at the Six Saints Cemetery for Fright Fest 2023 teased two rides closing. One read "2004 - ____" while the other read "2018 - ____."[4]
In January 2024, Revolution, along with Mardi Gras Hangover were dismantled from Six Flags Great America and purchased by Gene Staples, the owner of IB Parks & Entertainment. In February 2024, they were sent to Niagara Amusement Park and Splash World where they were put into storage.[5]
In May 2024, Revolution was moved into the park for construction from storage and was reassembled on the former site of the Amazing Flying Machine, Mind Wrap and Sizzler rides, which were removed by the park's previous owners Apex Parks Group when the park originally closed in 2020.[6] It was renamed to Midway Mayhem,[7] retaining its colour scheme from Six Flags Great America, and is still under construction.
