Buccaneer Battle was a splash battle ride at Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, Illinois, USA.
History
The ride opened on May 12, 2009.[1]
In 2021, Buccaneer Battle operated for the last time.[2] Construction fences were erected around the ride in 2023 and all ride signs were removed. The ride was also removed from the park's website and a patch of grass with trees replaced it on the 2024 park map.
In 2024, the ride was demolished.[3] On August 15, 2024, a new coaster, Wrath of Rakshasa, was announced to replace Buccaneer Battle.
Design
Guests sit on large boats which navigate an underwater track. Guests can use water cannons to shoot water at targets placed throughout the course or to shoot at other guests. Upon opening, this was the longest Mack Rides Splash Battle ride with a track length of around 450 feet.[1]
