Krazy Kups is a Junior Teacups ride built by Italian manufacturer Zamperla currently located at Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, Illinois, USA.

History

The ride opened in 2007 as part of the Wiggles World area as Dorothy's Rosy Tea Cups.[1]

When all theming not related to Warner Bros.-owned properties was being removed from the Six Flags chain, the ride was renamed to Krazy Kups in 2011.

From 2012 to 2016, the rule for riders above 54 inches needing to be accompanied by a rider under 54 inches was removed before being added back before the park ultimately removed the rule altogether.

Design

The base of the ride is painted green with a yellow trim on the edge of the base. The cups themselves are painted a bright pink with the ride's logo and yellow green and indigo-colored stripes on the sides. In the middle of the ride, there is a short pink pillar with the ride's logo and yellow green and indigo-colored stripes on the sides. Previously, there was a pink teapot with a yellow green ball on the top on the lid of the teapot.

Trivia

  • When the rule for riders above 54 inches needing to be accompanied by a rider under 54 inches was first removed, a craze known as "Kupping" became popular on YouTube. In videos about Kupping, guests would attempt to spin themselves as fast and as many times as they could in a single ride.
  • There was originally a teapot in the middle of the ride, but it was eventually removed.
