History

Sky Whirl first opened with the park on May 29, 1976. In 2000, it was closed and demolished.[1] The ride was replaced by Déjà Vu in 2001. Following the ride's closure, 3-4 of its cabins are used as props for the Six Saints Cemetery, a graveyard paying tribute to Six Flags Great America’s defunct attractions during the park's Fright Fest event. It also is honored with a mock gravestone.[2]
