Acrophobia is a Drop Tower located at Six Flags Over Georgia in Austell, Georgia, USA.

History

Acrophobia opened in 2001.^[1]^[2]

On June 22, 2007, Acrophobia was temporarily closed following an accident on Superman: Tower of Power at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom in Louisville, Kentucky, USA.^[3]

During the 2017 season, Six Flags Over Georgia added a virtual reality experience to Acrophobia. Dubbed Drop of Doom, the experience put guests in a helicopter battle. They were given a 360 degree rotating view high above massive city skyscrapers that were under siege by enormous spiders. The attraction's climax featured a showdown with a spider that was the size of a van, teeth-gnashing and in full attack mode.^[4]

The park announced on March 6, 2025 that the ride would be repainted as part of a major refresh.^[5] Painting began later that month.^[6] Baynum Solutions assisted with the repaint.^[7]
