Riverview Carousel is a Carousel built by US manufacturer Philadelphia Toboggan Company currently located at Six Flags Over Georgia in Austell, Georgia, USA. It previously operated at Riverview Park in Chicago.
History
The carousel was built for the opening of Riverview Park in 1908. It operated until the closure of the park in 1967, after which it was sold to the township of Galena, Illinois who put it in storage. It was subsequently sold to Six Flags who placed it at Six Flags Over Georgia. It reopened in 1972 and is situated on the highest hill in the park.[1]
In 1995, the carousel was placed on the National Register of Historic Places.[2][3]
