Xpress: Platform 13 is a steel launched roller coaster located at Walibi Holland in Biddinghuizen, Flevoland, Netherlands. Built by Vekoma, it opened in April 2000 as part of a large expansion.
History
Originally, the ride was planned to be named Riddler's Revenge since the track was painted green at the Vekoma factory. Before the ride was installed, plans changed and it was repainted with red track and blue supports and renamed Superman The Ride. The station was given the theme of the Daily Planet offices.
Superman The Ride opened to the general public in April 2000, along with three other roller coasters at the park. Five years later in 2005, the coaster was renamed Xpress. It would be based on a travel agency.
Xpress was closed for the entire 2011 season. It reopened on 7 April 2012 with a few changes. The track was repainted black and the supports were repainted white.
During the 2014 season, the attraction would be renamed Xpress: Platform 13. The ride would be now themed to an abandoned subway station. A new dark ride section was added after the final brake run and the rest of the queue line was enclosed.[1]
