HELP |
Speed of Sound (formerly known as La Via Volta) is a steel shuttle roller coaster located at Walibi Holland in Biddinghuizen, Flevoland, Netherlands. The ride also has a soundtrack, "Thrill Ride" by DJ Randy van der Velde ft. Jurab.
Speed of Sound was one of four roller coasters that opened at the park in 2000.
History
On 22 April 2000, La Via Volta opened to the public. La Via Volta is Italian for The Turning Road.
In June 2007, La Via Volta was closed. Four years later in 2011, it was renovated into Speed of Sound. The original Vekoma train was replaced with a new one with on-board audio. It was sent to Pleasurewood Hills in England, so that Wipeout can use it. Speed of Sound also saw the addition of a tunnel to its first lift hill.
