CA Cultural Technology Group Limited (Traditional Chinese: 華夏文化科技集團有限公司) is a management company based in Hong Kong (with an office located in Shenzhen, China) that operates amusement parks and entertainment facilities in China.
The company owns CA Sega Joypolis, a Japanese subsidiary that owns the Joypolis brand and operates the Tokyo Joypolis indoor amusement park and the Joypolis Sports complex. It also holds the license for Sega's IPs and brand to be used.
History
The company was originally founded as China Animation Group (Holding) Limited (Traditional Chinese: 華夏動漫集團(控股)有限公司) in 2007 to operate and manage IPs.
In March 2014, the company secured a license from Sega to open the first Chinese Joypolis amusement park in Shanghai.[1] In February 2015, the company was renamed China Animation Characters Company Limited (Traditional Chinese: 華夏動漫形象有限公司).
In November 2016, the company acquired a majority stake in CA Sega Joypolis as part of a wider restructuring of Sega.[2]
