History

The ride opened on May 4, 1997 as Drop Zone: Stunt Tower. It was renamed to Drop Tower: Scream Zone in 2008.

In August 1999, Paramount Canada's Wonderland temporarily closed Drop Zone: Stunt Tower when an accident on a similar ride at Paramount's Great America killed a 12-year-old boy.[1]

On June 22, 2007, Cedar Fair closed down all five Drop Zone: Stunt Tower locations following an accident on Superman: Tower of Power at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom, in which a 13-year-old girl lost both feet after a thick cable tightened her legs.[2]
