HELP |
Galaxy Orbiter is an indoor steel spinning roller coaster located at Galaxyland in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Its layout intertwines with many other attractions in the park including Mindbender, Cootie Coaster, Galaxyland Express, Swing of the Century and Dragon Wagon.
Design
Galaxy Orbiter makes a right-hand turn out of the station up its 45 foot lift hill. At the top, it turns to the left, dropping and climbing into a pair of switchbacks located above Cootie Coaster's lift hill. It drops out of them, rising into the first mid-course brake run. Then, Galaxy Orbiter drops, turning to the left and circling around Swing of the Century. Following this section, it enters a second, tire-driven lift hill into a left-hand downward helix. The third and final lift hill ensues, taking riders into Mindbender's footprint where the UFO Maze used to be. A tight figure-8 section and helices lead the train into the brake run, and afterwards, a left-hand turn brings the car back into the station.
Trains
Single cars. Riders are arranged 2 across in 2 rows, for a total of 4 riders per car.
