Murder Lodge is a sound-based Walk-Through attraction from Sega. In this haunted house-style attraction, guests wear headphones as they take refuge in a log cabin during a huge storm, but soon discover that it's manager and tenants were murdered by a killer. Sound is the main focus of the attraction, which gives in various scary sounds. Additional effects like wind and dark lighting make the experience more realistic.

Completed attractions

Murder Lodge debuted at Shinjuku Joypolis for its opening in October 1996[1] and was slowly transitioned to other Joypolis venues. Although a permement attraction, there would be times when the space was used for several pop-up 3D sound attractions based on films such as The Ring and The Blair Witch Project. Several installments of the attraction have been found at several Sega game centers as well.

At least one of the relocated installments was seen within the Sega World Utsunomiya game center upon its opening in April 2001. An installment was also said to have been found at Ikebukuro GiGO as well. The Fukuoka Joypolis installment was rumored to have been retained when the park became Club Sega Canal City, but currently it is unknown if it did. The last original incarnation of the attraction to close was the Okayama Joypolis installment in March 2008, following the removal of the park's rides.

After many years, the attraction made a comeback at Tokyo Joypolis in July 2020, and currently remains to this day.
