Satellite is a Roll-O-Plane manufactured by the Eyerly Aircraft Company located at Knoebels in Elysburg, Pennsylvania, United States.
History
Satellite opened in 1955, alongside High Speed Thrill Coaster.[1]
Design
Satellite consists of 1 arm and 2 cabins. Each cabin seats 2 riders each and each end of the cabins are capable of rotating. The ride's cabin motion makes it so that the rotation of the ride prevents riders from going upside down on the regular looping cycle - and the second cycle rotates the cars from side to side, causing more lateral G-Forces.
The ride unloads its guests by rotating the arm to have the highest of the cabins lower to have guests disembark. If there is already a cabin on the ground, they leave the attraction without further assistance.
