Scenic Railway is a wooden roller coaster located at Luna Park Melbourne in Australia. It is the second oldest roller coaster in the world, and the oldest continually operating roller coaster in the world (as Leap The Dips has stood standing but not operating several times). It is a side friction coaster with a brakeman.

History

Scenic Railway was built as part of the transformation of Dreamland into Luna Park. It opened with Luna Park on 13 December 1912.[1]

Design

Elements

The layout of the roller coaster forms a rounded triangle shape when viewed from above. It entirely surrounds Luna Park.

Unpainted track and white supports.
