Swamp Fox is a wooden roller coaster located at Family Kingdom in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, USA.
History
Swamp Fox opened in 1966 with the park, which was called Grand Strand at the time. John C. Allen worked on the project.[1]
Grand Strand park was damaged by Hurricane Hugo in 1989, after which the park was purchased by the Ammons family. Swamp Fox was subsequently refurbished and reopened in 1992.[2][3]
The roller coaster was designated as a historic structure by the city in March 2017.[4]
In August 2021, the queue line for the last car was blocked off in a more than temporary manner. The transfer track was also blocked off with no second train present.
