Talk:List of roller coaster elements

Pruning this list?

Over on our Discord channel I have proposed deleting the elements which are only used on one coaster (Scorpion tail, flying snake dive, etc) and merging any information on the element page into the coaster article. The elements list is rather long, and as has been pointed out we don't need to record every single bit of a coaster as an "element". This would involve removing the following articles:

• airtime twist (this doesn't appear to be linked to by any coaster articles, and isn't on RCDB)
• banked tilt
• Bowtie
• Camelback circle
• Dog tongue
• Double inverting stall
• Elephant trunk (what is this?)
• Flying snake dive
• Hairpin dive
• Inclined roll
• Lagoon roll (line an in-line twist, but changes direction of rotation half way through)
• Maxx dive loop (wiki also says its used by The Ride to Happiness by Tommorrowland, RCDB says only used by Maxx Force)
• Negative-g stall loop
• Over-banked inversion
• Reverse cobra roll (not on rcdb)
• Roll out (this must be similar enough that it can be counted as another element?)
• Scorpion tail
• Tongue
• Top-Gun stall

Perhaps not all of these should be deleted, but there's some cleaning up to do that's for sure! Lachlan (Talk | contribs) 12:56, 27 March 2021 (UTC)
