Hairpin dive

A harpin dive is a twisted drop that plunges the train and switches directions. Although it is similar to a dive drop, it does not invert passengers.

The hairpin dive is found on a few coasters, including Flashback, an Intamin Space Diver at Six Flags Magic Mountain, which closed in 2003 after years of dropping ridership and noise complaints from Hurricane Harbor.
