The horseshoe on Tatsu at Six Flags Magic Mountain

A horseshoe is a type of turnaround maneuver found on roller coasters. The horseshoe is essentially a 180-degree turnaround with high banking so that riders are tilted at a 90-degree angle or more at the top at the element. The horseshoe is named that way because the element is shaped roughly like a horseshoe, with a semicircular shape at the top. The entrance and exit to this element are roughly parallel.

An over-banked pretzel knot is an element that has two horseshoes. The train enters a horseshoe, followed by another one in the reverse direction, before exiting in the same direction as it entered. It is found on Thunderbird at Holiday World.
