Wraparound corkscrew

The wraparound corkscrew is a corkscrew contained within a drop.

The inversion was introduced in 1992 with Busch Gardens Williamsburg's Drachen Fire; however, due to complaints of a rough ride and plummeting guest satisfaction, Drachen Fire was removed from operation in 1998. In 2019, the element was brought back for the new coaster Fury at Belgium's Bobbejaanland Theme Park.

The barrel roll downdrop, introduced in 2016, is also an inversion within a drop, however the barrel roll downdrop more closely resembles a barrel roll, and riders enter and exit the drop in the same direction.
