The banana roll is a roller coaster element that inverts riders either once or twice. It is similar to a cobra roll but the track does not level out near the top of the inversion. It is also similar to an inverted top hat. Three roller coasters have a banana roll. Takabisha at Fuji-Q Highland and TMNT Shellraiser at Nickelodeon Universe both have identical layouts and a banana roll with one inversion. Steel Curtain at Kennywood also has a banana roll, but it is shaped differently such that riders are inverted twice. In 2021, an extreme spinning coaster called Robo-Spinner with a banana roll will open at Plopsaland De Panne.
