Universal Studios (UK)
More actions
In December 2023, Universal Parks & Resorts announced that it had acquired land near Bedford in England, UK.
It stated that it was in the early stages of evaluating the feasibility of a theme park and hotel at the site and that it could be "many months" before a decision was taken on whether to proceed.[1][2] A name has not yet been announced for the proposed park.
On 8 April 2025, the UK Government and Comcast announced their support for the project. Construction is expected to start in 2026 with the park expected to open in 2031.[3]
Themed Areas
Following the announcement on 8 April 2025, some details on the park from a source "close" to the project were shared by the BBC. It suggested that the park will have attractions based on James Bond, Paddington and The Lord of the Rings. Other themes include Back to the Future, Jurassic Park and Minions.
It noted that Harry Potter was unlikely to feature at the park due to Warner Bros. already using the IP for their Warner Bros. Studio Tour attraction.[4]
