Universal Studios Japan (Japanese: ユニバーサル・スタジオ・ジャパン) is an amusement park in Konohana-ku, Osaka, Japan.

History

The park was closed from 29 February to 7 June 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The new themed area Super Nintendo World, based on the Mario franchise, was expected to open on 4 February 2021. However, its opening was pushed back due to government restrictions amid the coronavirus pandemic. It opened on 18 March. The park closed once again due to the pandemic on 24 April.
