The attraction originally opened with Mickey's Toontown on January 24, 1993. Donald's Boat was a two-floor attraction that semi-functioned as an children's indoor playground - containing a slide, a spiral staircase, a kiddie entrance, and a rope climb; alongside a tugboat horn that could be pulled with a rope. These functions were removed within the 1990s due to safety concerns.
As part of the Toontown remodelling, the attraction was reinvented as a children's water play area entitled Donald's Duck Pond, accessible through Goofy's How-To-Play Yard. The boat itself is no longer accessible as an attraction, with its doors and windows covered over with images "simulating" the ship having been flooded after crashing next to Goofy's House.
