HELP |
Half Pipe is a steel shuttle roller coaster located at Elitch Gardens in Denver, Colorado, USA. It began operation on May 27, 2004 and was the second of three Intamin Half Pipe roller coasters to open.
Design
The track layout is essentially a giant "U", with the station located at the lowest point between two vertical spikes. LSM technology is used to launch riders up each spike. The ride features two 80 foot drops and a maximum speed of 43.5 mph.
Trains
Single train with 2 cars. In each car, riders are arranged 8 across in a single row, for a total of 16 riders per train. The train is shaped like a giant skateboard. Riders are held in with over-the-shoulder harnesses. The seats are arranged in two circles facing outward and both circles can spin freely.
