HELP |
Tak Attack was a Rotoshake from Zamperla located at Nickelodeon Universe Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota, USA.
History
The ride opened on March 20, 1998 as Mighty Axe,[1] becoming the first ride at the park which inverted riders.[2] The ride was themed to the legendary Paul Bunyan's "mighty axe," and looked like a hatchet.
In 2008, coinciding with the redevelopment of Knott's Camp Snoopy into Nickelodeon Universe, Mighty Axe was renamed Tak Attack, after the then-recent Tak and The Power of Juju series. Since Tak started as a video game, this was one of the few attractions themed to a video game character at the time. It closed in 2011 and was replaced the following year with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Shell Shock.[3]
Incidents
In its opening year, riders got stuck upside-down for 4 hours after a mechanical failure.
