Tassie's Underwater Twist are a pair of WhiteWater West Super Bowl bowl tube water slides located at Aquatica Orlando in Orlando, Florida, USA.[1][2]
History
The slides originally opened with the park on March 1, 2008, as Tassie's Twisters.[3][4]
On December 7, 2023, the park annouced Tassie's Underwater Twist, a full refurbishment and retheme of the slides by WhiteWater West, featuring new enclosed bowls, wall projections, and a sound system.[5][6]
Tassie's Underwater Twist opened on March 15, 2024.[7]
Design
The slides were originally partually enclosed, but when they became Tassie's Underwater Twist, they became fully enclosed.
Both slides have slightly different drops into their bowls, with one turning right and then left, and the other only turning right.
Riders originally had to enter the Loggerhead Lane lazy river and grab a tube from it to acess the slides, and riders would be dumped back into the river at the end of the slides.[8]
Over time, changes were made, with chains being added at the end of the slides, requiring riders to exit the water before returning to the river, and a bridge being built over the river as an entrance to the slides, separating the slides and the river entirely.[9]
Color scheme
When opened, one of the slides was teal, and the other was green, with both bowls having alternating yellow sections, as part of the conversion to Tassie's Underwater Twist, both slides were painted alternating shades teal.
