Adventure Mountain is a duo of body water slides built by Canadian manufacturer Waterfun Products located at Daytona Lagoon in Daytona Beach, Florida, USA.[1][2]

History

The slides opened on June 11, 1999, with the rest of the park, at the time known as Adventure Landing.[3] Prior to opening, the slides were advertised as "VORTEX AQUA WHIZ TUBE", this name was likely a placeholder.[4]

The park was closed by Adventure Entertainment on September 30, 2002, leaving the slides standing but not operating.[5]

The park reopened on March 24, 2005, as Daytona Lagoon and Adventure Mountain reopened with a green and purple paint job.[6][7]

The slides were temporarily closed in 2017 after sustaining damage from Hurricane Irma.[8]

Design

Both slides are identical mirrors of each other and consist of a small drop followed by a 1080° downward helix which gets tighter every 180°, causing high g-forces.[9]

The slide tower is partially on top of the garage of the go-karts nearby, and part of the purple slide extends over the go-kart track.

Color scheme

The slide tubes are painted green and purple respectively, aside from the start and end sections, in which the colors are swapped. The tubes were both black until 2005.[1][7]

The supports are blue.
