Alpenrutsche (German for Alpineslide) is a Rockin' Tug built by German manufacturer Zierer currently located at Attractiepark Toverland in Sevenum, Limburg, Netherlands. The ride is located inside the parks indoor Wunderwald area.
History
The ride originally opened as Swampies Swing. Swampie was a mushroom and one of Toverland's old mascots, mostly of the Magic Forest area. The characted was featured on the ride's sail, along with the name of the ride.
The attraction would be renamed to Alpenrutsche when the Magic Forest area was transformed into the Austrian/steampunk themed Wunderwald in 2017. The only other thing to change would be the sail on the ride vehicle, with the new one no longer featuring Swampie or the name of the ride. The new sail would instead feature multiple patches on it to reflect the ingenuity of the new mascot of Wunderwald; the inventor Maximus Müller.
