Coasterpedia:Introducing water slides

Latest comment: 19 April by Alex in topic Comments
Water parks - we're diving in!

Following numerous requests we are finally adding water slides to the wiki! We expanded to add non-coaster rides in 2020 and water slides feels like the next logical step. Water parks are often found beside amusement parks and some coasters, for example Bandit Bomber, are even within water parks. To our knowledge there is no comprehensive water slide resource online and this presents an oppurtunity for us to expand. This will draw people into the wiki and should see more people visiting our coaster and ride pages too.

How to start

To create a new water slide page, please use the article creator. The Guide to water slides has infromation on the various parameters.

To create a water park page, use the park article creator. Water parks are treated the same way as all other parks on the wiki. A water park should have a seperate page if it requires its own ticket to visit. If water slides are included in a amusement park ticket or are an optional add-on, please include the water slides on the existing amusement park page. An example of a standalone water park is Siam Park. An example of a combined amusement and water park is Djurs Sommerland.

We would like to expand carefully so please add sources to all edits. There is good quality information out there on water parks - please cite it!

What do we do with waterslides of the same name that are of the same name and location? - Greatcoasters Greatcoasters (talk) 12:49, 19 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
We go off what the park advertise. If there are multiple slides under the same name only create 1 article then set number of slides in the infobox. Only set the category etc if it applies to all slides, otherwise describe in the article. For example Sawasdee (Siam Park) Alex (talk) 12:56, 19 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Yep, as long as if it fits our definition of a water slide as per Coasterpedia:Guide to water slides then it can be included on the site Alex (talk) 14:23, 19 April 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
