An electric winch launch on Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain at Disneyland Paris

An electric winch launch is a type of launch system that uses a device that pushes the train after a cable is released. It is found on Arrow Dynamics Launched Loop installations.

The system is also used on Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain at Disneyland Paris. A catch car is located underneath the fourth car that would pull the train along with the cable. Several flywheels are used to accelerate the winch drum up the track.
