HydroMax is a Booster built by Italian manufacturer Fabbri currently located at Family Happy Land in Zubair, Basra, Iraq. The ride was originally built for Pleasure Island Family Theme Park in Cleethorpes, Lincolnshire, England, UK.[1]

History

HydroMax opened in July 2006. The ride was rumored to just be called "Booster",[2] and was originally planned to be built on the former site of Condor, a HUSS Condor ride which was removed at the end of the 2005 season. This later changed however, and this planned location was later used for the "Kiddies Cove" playground in 2008. HydroMax was then instead built on the former location of Dream Boat behind the lake, which was removed after the 2000 season.[3] It operated until Pleasure Island Family Theme Park closed permanently on 29 October 2016.

HydroMax was dismantled and removed from the site in April 2017 and subsequently put up for sale by a used ride website dealer.[4] In May 2023, it was reported that the ride had been sold to Family Happy Land in Zubair, Basra, Iraq after some people mistook and thought it was purchased by and would be installed at Southport Pleasureland in Southport, Merseyside, England, UK.[5][6] The ride was rebuilt in Iraq in June 2023.[7] It opened in July 2023.[8]
