Star Wars was a Star Flyer built by German manufacturer Arrow HUSS that was previously located at Lunapark Cap d'Agde in Agde, Languedoc-Roussillon, France. The ride was built as the prototype Condor, but was converted to a Star Flyer-type ride whilst in France.

History

The ride first opened on May 12, 1984 as part of the 1984 Louisiana World Exposition in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA. It was known as Cyclo Tower.[1]

The ride was sold to Bobbejaanland in Lichtaart, Antwerp, Belgium upon the fair's closure on November 11, 1984. It reopened there as Condor in 1986.[2]

After the 1997 season, the ride went to ride dealer Nauta Bussink, who subsequently sold the ride to Pleasure Island Family Theme Park in Cleethorpes, Lincolnshire, England, UK. Condor reopened there in 1998, replacing the Giant Wheel.[3] The ride operated at the park until 2005, when it was removed for the addition of HydroMax in 2006. The ride was then sold to French showman Vromaine where it travelled with him until being sold to Lunapark Cap d'Agde in Agde, Languedoc-Roussillon, France at a unknown time. Back at Pleasure Island Family Theme Park, the ride's former location became home to the Kiddies Cove children's play area.[4]

At Lunapark Cap d'Agde, the ride was converted from a Condor to a Star Flyer ride model and was rethemed and renamed to Star Wars, after the 1977 film franchise. It is believed to have opened at the park around 2014 or earlier. The ride was later removed somepoint after the 2017 season and was scrapped.[5]
