Windy City Amusements is a travelling rides company based in Aurora, Illinois, USA.
History
Windy City Amusements was originally founded in 1977.[1]
In 2009, the park applied a "midway beautification program" to their offerings. The program included adding additional benches, LED Lighting, "'Bee Size Wise' ride height signs" with measurement sticks in front of every ride, and electronic ticket booths with ATMs installed within them.[2]
The company decided to add a new LED Light package to the Century Wheel in 2013.[3]
Incident
On Saturday, April 27, 2023, around 6:28 p.m., local police were called to the carnival in Lake in the Hills, Illinois, USA after overwhelming groups of teenagers were seen fighting in the parking lot surrounding the carnival, shopping centers surround the carnival, and the carnival itself. The Algonquin/Lake in the Hills Chamber of Commerce and Lake in the Hills Police Department agreed to not reopen the carnival on the following Sunday.[4] Succeeding the fights, the Cinco de Mayo Carnival planned for the next weekend in Huntley, Illinois, USA was cancelled.[5] Furthermore, Windy City Amusements implemented a new admission policy for their next event, the Geneva Spring Carnival, which was scheduled for the weekend that was originally reserved for the Cinco de Mayo Carnival and the following weekend.[6]
